Pokemon First Gen Starter Blanket

Yup, you read the title correctly. It’s finished at last!! (and listed on etsy)

Drum roll please……

Yup, behold the glory that is the Pokemon blanket. It’s pictured on a queen sized bed for size references.

And the beautiful back. Yup, fully reversible, which is why I crochet most of my blankets these days.

I have a few new projects in the works, hopefully I’ll have a bit more time in the upcoming weeks to post a bit more. I’m always looking for new ideas, so fill the comments section with suggestions!

Pokemon Blanket, Almost Finished!

Good news everyone!

Finals are over, which means two weeks of sleeping, crafting, and eating turkey.

“mmm turkey” she drools.

Oh where were we, oh yea, so in addition to having free time, I also have managed to almost complete my Pokemon blanket!

Now all I have to do is put the squares together. Yay!

And yes, it will be available on etsy in the coming weeks.

Pokemon Blanket Part 5

My latest block for the Pokemon blanket is possibly one of my favorites.

Bulbasaur has always been one of my favorite Pokemon, and I’m pretty happy with how his square turned out. The spots on the legs look a little too much like plus signs for me now that he’s finished, but other than that he turned out really well.

I’m going to create solid colored squares to fill in the rest of the blanket now so that the blanket isn’t too busy. Then all that’s left is to put the blocks together. Hooray!

Pokemon Blanket Part 4

I’ve been a crocheting machine! So here, for your viewing pleasure, is my latest creation for the Pokemon blanket. Squirtle!

Unlike my other patterns, I didn’t chibify (yes it’s a word now) the Pokemon myself. Instead, I drew inspiration from this little guy I found on Deviant art.

Isn’t he cute?! If you like chibi art as much as I do, be sure to check out MizziChibiArt!

So now, without further adieu, is my latest blanket square:

I think he turned out pretty cute. I left out some of the shell detail to try to keep him from being too cluttered, but now that I’m able to stand back and look at it, it probably could have been left in. Other than that, I’m super excited with the way he turned out.

Just one more Pokemon square to go!

Pokemon Blanket Part 3

As promised, I have been working hard on my Pokemon blanket and here for your viewing pleasure, is my latest square.

Here he is, chibi charmander.

Not too sure how I feel about this one to be honest. I wanted him to look cute, but my sister said he reminds here of a mushroom. I’m not sure if I see the mushroom, but I’m not happy with the tail. One of the instances of it looked better on paper than in practice. *shrug*

Pokemon Blanket

20120709-232506.jpg

Good news everyone!

Well kinda good news.

My summer plans seem to keep falling through and I’ve found myself with soooo much time on my hands. So in order to fill that time, I’ve decided to make a few more video game themed blankets.

I’ve decided to kick things off by making a Pokemon blanket, featuring the iconic Pokeball, and four other Pokemon to be relieved at a later date (I know, you are just hanging off the edge of your seat).

You may remember the Pokeball from my last gamer blanket, but in case you don’t, the chart can be found on the pattern’s page.

And more good news! I’m going to be featuring some of these new creations on Etsy, so stay tuned!

Epic Gamer Blanket

The Epic Gamer Blanket is finished! Hooray!

After much debate on how to connect the squares, I decided on doing two rows of double crochet between each of them and around the outside, making for a nice outline that doesn’t take away from the designs, while separating them enough to keep all the random colors from meshing together.

I’m really happy with the way it turned out. While making it I was really careful to hide all the tails of the yarn during color changes, so now its pretty much reversible. Some of the logos are backwards, and there is a slight difference in texture, but hey, no ugly strings marking the back!
